Hosted by Brian Sachson (producer/writer) and Michael Shields (writer/editor), WTTPP is a celebration of the art of cinema and filmmaking, where movies and television shows are meticulously dissected and analyzed to evaluate their grandeur (or, conversely when necessary, lament their shortcomings). Guests will include the filmmakers and industry insiders that craft the works of art that inhabit the current zeitgeist. Episode 6: Blue Planet II with Roger Horrocks (Underwater Cinematographer / Wildlife Cameraman)

Welcome To The Party Pal gets wet in a true deep dive into BBC’s Blue Planet II, the 2017 British nature documentary series on marine life produced by the BBC Natural History Unit. Like its predecessor, The Blue Planet (2001), it is narrated and presented by naturalist Sir David Attenborough, while the main music score is composed by Hans Zimmer. Using breakthroughs in science and cutting-edge technology to explore this final frontier, Blue Planet II presents compelling stories featuring astonishing characters, otherworldly places, and extraordinary animal behaviors. This episode of WTTPP presents an interview with Roger Horrocks, a renowned and extremely gifted wildlife cameraman who acts as one of the cinematographers on Blue Planet II. Roger has worked from the frozen poles to the tropical equator, specializing in immersive imagery of dynamic and fast moving animals and events. Roger is currently working on Our Planet, an eight part series for Netflix produced by Silverback Films, and Dolphin World for Disney Nature.

 

Episode 7: Avengers – Infinity War

 

Join in as the Welcome to The Party Pal team dives into the 19th offering from the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Avengers: Infinity War. In one of their nerdiest episodes yet, hosts Michael Shields and Brian Sachson sift through the ashes that remain following the Avengers confrontation with their most powerful enemy to date, the evil Thanos. In the episode Michael and Brian meticulously discuss the Infinity Stones that provide the power to Thanos’ Gauntlet, Thanos’ motives and merits as a supervillian, and what might lie ahead in the forthcoming Avengers 4! Buckle up for a journey that takes you to Xandar, Vormir, Nidavellir, Titan, Wakanda and beyond, in an episode where it is revealed that while one half of the WTTPP duo is wholeheartedly in line with the Avengers, the other is defiantly Team Thanos (hint: it’s Brian!).

The Welcome To The Party team invites you to join in on a celebration of the career of arguably the great action star of all time, Arnold Schwarzenegger. With the help of comedian, actor, and one of the hosts of the magnificent podcast God Ween Evan Will Nunziata, Brian Sachson and Michael Shields dive deeply into the phenomenon of Arnold Schwarzenegger while embarking on a wild ride through all his most celebrated films. This is a party you aren’t going to want to miss, an episode that acts as a true ode to the man that brought muscles into the mainstream and enamored an entire generation.

 

Episode 9: 2001: A Space Odyssey – 50th Anniversary Spectacular
